I DIDN’T GET ENTRIES, DO YOU HAVE A WAITING LIST?

The waiting list is not active anymore and we instead use resales as our platform for runners to be able to sell their tickets if they cannot attend. You will be able to purchase a running entry if one becomes available via the resale page.

How the Resale Works:

1. Similar to Facebook marketplace, tickets only become available when they are put up for resale.
2. This means that they appear randomly, so the resale page must be checked regularly.
3. There is no first come first serve, but the person who completes the purchase first will get the resale ticket.
4. You will be able to purchase accommodation options aswell off the resales page, however your options might be limited to what is available. If you are looking for a
specific tent, we recommend buying your running entry and waiting until the tent you want becomes available.

The more you check, the luckier you will be 🙂

I HAVE MY RUNNING ENTRY, HOW DO I BUY MY ACCOMMODATION:

You can look for accommodation tickets two ways:
– You can go to the event that you have a running ticket for and select “Buy Tickets”

When resales have opened in 2026, you will be able go onto the “Buy Resale Tickets”
This is the only platform where runners can sell their Oxpecker entries and tents. Please keep checking the resale pages intermittently to try find entries and accommodation.

Is your Howler account attached to your work or private email? If it is your work email, you can sign up to the waiting list with your private email address, by joining the “waiting list”, which will add you onto our mailing list where you should start receiving emails (holding thumbs)

*If it is a work email, our system sometimes detects a privacy error and removes the email from our mailing list.

I’VE NEVER RUN AN OXPECKER, WHAT IS OXPECKER ALL ABOUT?

The Oxpecker Trail Run is was the first 2 day stage trail run in South Africa, based in Winterton, KwaZulu Natal. The Oxpecker has 3 series events over 3 weekends in May,
from the first weekend in May and onwards. The weekend is packed full of activities, from Friday arrival until you leave on Sunday morning, and is filled with incredible food, good vibes and awesome trails. Then for the more adventurous, we have the Oxpecker Trail Marathon, which is our smaller and more intimate event in April. This weekend offers luxury tents included in your entry, which gives you that extra bang for your buck! Want to find out more, click the button below to explore the Oxpecker Trail Marathon.

If you would like, you can also join the mailing list to keep up with all our events. Our tickets will go on sale on the 1st of August 2025, for the 2026 Oxpecker events. The tickets usually sell out very quickly, so we suggest that people are prepared so that they do not miss out.

CAN I SWAP MY ENTRY TO ANOTHER OXPECKER WEEKEND?

Unfortunately, each weekend is a sell-out event and we are not able to swap tickets across weekends.

What you can do is put your entries up for resale for the event you have entries for and buy tickets off the resale page for the weekend you would like to attend. You can
do this by following the steps below:

Resale Instructions:
1. Log into your Howler account and select Tickets.
2. Click on the 3 dots on the right hand side of the ticket you’d like to sell.
3. Click the “Sell Ticket” option to put your ticket on sale.
4. Repeat the steps for your tent ticket aswell

Please note: Putting your tickets up for resale does not guarantee that they will sell, and you risk sitting with entries for two events.

I CAN’T ATTEND, HOW DO I TRANSFER MY ENTRY TO MY FRIEND?

Transferring tickets allows you to send tickets securely from your Howler account to other people. When you transfer a ticket, the existing ticket is cancelled and a new
ticket is issued to the email address specified. Both the original and new ticket holders will receive an email confirming the ticket transfer.

Heads up! Transferring a ticket means you will no longer have access to the ticket. The recipient is the new owner and the ticket will appear under their tickets tab.
Entered the incorrect email address? Don’t worry, it happens. Please contact support@howler.co.za and one of our agents will assist you.

You cannot transfer a ticket to an email address that already has a ticket assigned to it. Each ticket needs to be assigned to a unique email address.

Transfers close on Friday, one week before each event.
Fees: R200 per entry, R100 per tent.

Follow the steps below to transfer your ticket:
1. Login to howler.co.za using the email address that your tickets are listed under and click on the
3 dots at the top of the page.
2. Click the three dots on the right hand side of your ticket and select the transfer button.
3. Fill in the details of the person you’re transferring the ticket to and click “transfer”
4. Double check the email address you are sending the entry to, confirm transfer by selecting
“pay now” to pay the R200 transfer fee. Please remember to complete this same process if you are
selling your tent too.
