Supporter Peckers are welcome at the Oxpecker Marathon provided they buy a supporters package. The package includes all meals and they have to share the tent with the runner.

Setting up Camp

 

You will then collect bags and belongings from your vehicle and head to your elected accommodation area – YAY. You can unpack and make your tent feel like home for the next few days. The race village comes to life with the arrival of PECKERS, where gin and beer on tap start flowing and the Oxpecker shop awaits excited runners.

 The race village

Oxpecker isn’t just about the race—it’s about the experience. The Race Village is where you’ll eat, sleep, and celebrate.

Accommodation:
We’ve got a range of comfortable camping tent options available ready and waiting for you to choose from. Please make special note that each tent has a packing list provided, which we recommend you taking a look at.

Food and Drinks:
You are in for an absolute treat! Our awesome caterers know their beautiful salads, locally sourced meats and make the most divine homemade granola! All meals will be provided for you from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. A fully stocked Hotbox tent offering tea, coffee, baked goodies and fruit will be open throughout the weekend. We have a full stocked bar as well as locally sourced craft beer for sale. Our tuckshop has anything from waters, chips, chocolates and biltong.

Getting there

Oxpecker is held just outside Winterton, KwaZulu-Natal.

Driving Times:
From Johannesburg: Around 4.5 hours via the N3
From Durban: Around 3 hours via the N3
